Recommended Specification:

VoSMART (V-SMART) VALVE, DOWN HOLE FLOW CONTROL DEVICE

The contractor shall provide a double acting cylinder, hydraulically actuated, down hole flow control valve that permits calibrated throttling without surging and with near linear flow control characteristic (within 2% of set point) over the entire flow range of the valve. The set point of the valve shall not be affected by surges or water hammer from sources such as system pumps cycling on and off. The valve shall consist of a multiple orifice port opening with throttling sleeve. The unit shall be capable of local or remote control utilizing a pump mounted manual control or system connection to a PLC/SCADA system.

The Valve and Power Unit system shall consist of:
1. A stainless steel hydraulically actuated flow control valve or equal hydraulically actuated valve.
2. An opening and closing adjustable speed control may be provided for precise control of the hydraulic fluid.
3. A 10,000-PSI rated electric-driven hydraulic power unit (pump) with hydraulic reservoir and with internal pressure relief valve set at 600 PSI.
4. A 24 volt pump mounted 3 position 4-way, pilot operated, locking solenoid control valve.
5. Two Double Poppet quick disconnects installed between control unit and the hoses.
6. A 24 volt pendant switch for local control.
7. A parallel connection of the pendant switch for PLC/SCADA control.
8. A hydraulic position indicator shall be provided to indicate when the valve is in the closed position. A secondary set of contacts shall be provided to shift the solenoid control valve to the neutral position.
9. Two 1000 PSI gauges and adapters.
10. Two gallons of hydraulic fluid to fill the pump reservoir. Fluid shall be Food Grade Mineral Oil SAE Grade-10 or approved biodegradable hydraulic oil as specified herewith. (Additional fluid to fill hydraulic lines shall be contractor supplied. Requires 1 gallon/400')

The Valve and Power Unit shall be connected with a hydraulic hose system as follows:

Connecting hoses shall be a minimum of 10,000 PSI rated hoses from the valve to the power unit and shall be continuous, with a strain relief (316 SS 1/2";x 0.30"; strap & 1/8"; rubber pad) just above each pipe coupling (20 feet O/C.) and at the well plate provide a Grainger #5D886 strain relief cord grip or equal. A positive slope shall be maintained from the valve to the power unit. From the well plate hose connector to the power unit 1/4" SS tubing may be used.

Hoses are to be by Parker Fluid Connectors (Parker Hannifin Corporation) Parflex Division, #2245N or 2380N-0606-4-4-4C00-XXXX (inches in length) with JIC-Stainless Steel, Female Swivel Fittings each end, with 4-PNTX-S JIC plugs installed for shipping and handling. Hoses must be pressure tested with mineral oil to working pressure with no leaks prior to shipping by the manufacturer.

The Power Unit and Valve shall be supplied by VoV Enterprises, Inc. 2063 S. Della Lane, Anaheim, CA 92802. (714) 638-1774.

The Hydraulic Hose system shall be as manufactured by Parker Hannifin-Polyflex Division.

Hydraulic Fluid is available through McMaster-Carr part number 1400K11 (1 gallon container), 1400K15 (5 gallon container) SAE Grade 10 as manufactured by BEL-RAY (MSDS sheets).

Recommended Centralizers by RACI (casing spacers) sold through Public Works Marketing, Inc. (800) 517-0395

Recommended Specification:

Variable Orifice Valve (VoV), DOWN HOLE FLOW CONTROL DEVICE

The contractor shall provide a double acting cylinder, hydraulically actuated, down hole flow control valve that permits calibrated throttling with near linear flow control characteristic (within 2% of set point) over the entire flow range of the valve. The set point of the valve shall not be affected by surges or water hammer from sources such as system pumps cycling on and off.
The valve shall consist of a single orifice port opening with throttling piston that shall be installed so the orifice and piston are positioned facing upstream. The unit shall be capable of local or remote control utilizing a pump mounted manual control or system connection to a PLC/SCADA system.

The Valve and Power Unit system shall consist of:

1. A stainless steel piston-operated, hydraulically actuated double acting flow control valve.
2. An opening and closing adjustable speed control for precise control of the hydraulic fluid.
3. A 10,000-PSI rated electric-driven hydraulic power unit (pump) with hydraulic reservoir and with internal pressure relief valve set at 4,000 PSI.
4. Two adjustable speed controls valves for precise flow control of the hydraulic fluid.
5. A 24 volt pump mounted 3 position 4-way, pilot operated, locking solenoid control valve.
6. Two Double Poppet quick disconnects installed between control unit and the hoses.
7. A 24 volt pendant switch for local control.
8. A hydraulic position indicator shall be provided to indicate when the valve is in the closed position. A secondary set of contacts shall be provided to shift the solenoid control valve to the neutral position.
9. A parallel connection of the pendant switch for PLC/SCADA control.
10. Two 5000 PSI gauges and adapters.
11. Two gallons of hydraulic fluid to fill the pump reservoir. Fluid shall be Food Grade Mineral Oil SAE Grade-10 or approved biodegradable hydraulic oil as specified herewith. (Additional fluid to fill hydraulic lines shall be contractor supplied.)

The Valve and Power Unit shall be connected with a hydraulic hose system as follows:

Connecting hoses shall be a minimum of 10,000 PSI rated hoses from the valve to the power unit and shall be continuous, with a strain relief (316 SS 1/2";x 0.30"; strap) just above each pipe coupling (20 feet) at the well plate provide a Grainger #5D886 strain relief cord grip on each hose. From the well plate hose connector to the power unit 1/4" SS tubing may be used.

A positive slope shall be maintained from the valve to the power unit.

One hose of the pair needs to be 6"; longer than the other to provide for the length of the valve. Hoses are to be by Parker Fluid Connectors (Parker Hannifin Corporation) Parflex Division, #2245N-0606-4-4-4C00-XXXX (inches in length) or #2380N-0606-4-4-4C00-XXXX (inches in length) with JIC-Stainless Steel, Female Swivel Fittings each end, with 4-PNTX-S JIC plugs installed for shipping and handling. Hoses must be pressure tested with mineral oil to working pressure with no leaks prior to shipping by the manufacturer.

The Power Unit and Valve shall be supplied by VoV Enterprises, Inc., 2063 S. Della Lane, Anaheim, CA 92802. (714) 638-1774.

Hydraulic Fluid is available through McMaster-Carr part number 1400K11 (1 gallon container), 1400K15 (5 gallon container) SAE Grade 10 as manufactured by BEL-RAY (MSDS sheets).
